Terms of service

These terms cover Faust plans, billing, cancellation, withdrawal, service limits and your legal rights.

Faust Pass guarantee

These conditions apply only when included in your Faust Pass checkout contract. Earlier purchases keep the offer and rights that applied when they were made; these new conditions do not apply retrospectively. Flex and other plans are not included.

Register your Goethe exam date and level in Faust before buying the Pass, at least 28 days before the exam. Take that exam during the paid access window. In each of the four consecutive 7-day periods immediately before the exam date, complete at least 4 different Faust practice papers at that Goethe level, spread across at least 3 different days. Use the same account and complete the papers after buying the Pass. The four periods run from 28 days before the exam to the day before it; dates use Europe/Berlin time. All 16 papers must be different. A completed paper is a submitted practice paper recorded as completed in Faust; blank submissions, abandoned sessions and repeats of the same paper do not count. Each paper must contain your own genuine attempt at every required task; no minimum score or pass mark is required. Time spent with a page open does not count as completed practice.

If the official result records that you failed that exam or a module you sat as part of it, we refund the amount you actually paid for that Faust Pass, including any tax. The guarantee does not reimburse Goethe or exam-centre fees, resits, travel or other third-party expenses. It is a refund promise, not a promise that you will pass.

Email support@faustacademy.com from your account email within 30 days of receiving the official result. Include your Faust purchase reference and the official Goethe or exam-centre result notice showing your name, exam level, exam date and failed result. You may redact unrelated information. We verify the notice and the completed papers against your account records; screenshots of time spent alone are not proof of completed practice.

We review the claim within 14 days of receipt. If evidence is missing, we explain what is needed and allow at least 14 days to provide it; an on-time claim remains on time. We explain any refusal and review relevant corrections or evidence of missing practice records, including a Faust outage. Approved refunds are issued within 14 days to the original payment method, with an agreed alternative if that method cannot accept the refund. A purchase can be refunded only once.

This voluntary guarantee does not restrict statutory withdrawal, refund or other consumer rights, or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

1. Contract formation

The public offer and Checkout show the service, selected price, cadence, renewal, tax treatment, cancellation and statutory withdrawal information before payment. The final hosted German payment button is the acceptance gate; a pricing-page click or a Stripe receipt alone does not form proof of activation.

Before remote Stripe mutation, Faust stores an immutable checkout attempt, the canonical legal content digest, offer digest, policy versions, consent text and consent digests. After the subscription lifecycle is verified, the contract snapshot is sent through the accepted durable email provider. If those configurations are not verified, paid checkout stays closed.

2. Flex price and renewal

Flex costs $0.99 for an introductory period of at least 7 days, charged immediately. Then $5.49 is charged every month until cancelled. The first monthly charge date is shown in Checkout. Cancel before that renewal to avoid further charges.

Stripe shows the final charge before payment. Faust adds no usage overages.

The selected price and cadence are shown before payment. Tax classifications are recorded separately and do not control technical checkout availability.

The amounts and discount are derived from the billing registry and are bound to the checkout confirmation.

3. Services and fair use

Faust provides AI-assisted German practice across reading, listening, writing and speaking. It is a practice service, not a certification authority and does not promise a particular examination result.

Fair-use limits pause affected practice at the displayed reset boundary. There are no usage overage charges. Access and entitlement state follow the verified subscription lifecycle, not an untrusted browser or query-string value.

4. Payment and cancellation

Stripe processes payment and recurring billing. Billing changes and cancellation are available through the Stripe Customer Portal and the public two-step cancellation flow. The public flow verifies contract-email control by a secure link, checks the immutable subscription-state digest, re-fetches the current Stripe tuple before mutation, and applies cancellation through the existing Stripe lifecycle.

A cancellation is not a statutory withdrawal. The applicable termination date is durably confirmed after the Stripe request and lifecycle processing.

5. Withdrawal and immediate performance

14 day money back. No questions asked. Request a refund within 14 days of your first payment, including the first subscription payment, the paid intro week and the Faust Pass. The intro week starts this period; renewal does not restart it. We refund the last payment in full and cancel the subscription. Access ends when the refund is processed. Using the service does not reduce your refund. Email support@faustacademy.com from your account email with the subject "14 day refund request", or use the refund link in Billing settings. Refunds go to the original payment method within 14 days of your request. This promise does not limit your statutory rights.

Withdrawal requests include review of the refund due; ordinary subscription cancellation does not replace withdrawal.

6. Warranty and liability

Statutory warranty rights remain. Liability is limited only to the extent permitted by applicable law; nothing here excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded. The service may be unavailable during maintenance, provider outages or a required safety gate.

7. Dispute resolution and durable records

Consumer-dispute participation is Not applicable: YARKEY LIMITED does not currently participate in a voluntary consumer ADR scheme. A contract snapshot, canonical content digest, policy versions and consent digests are retained as immutable records and delivered on a durable medium after verified activation. Stripe’s receipt is not the contract snapshot.

Payments, cancellation and withdrawal

Cancel anytime, effective at the end of your current billing period, through your Stripe Customer Portal accessible in your billing settings. A free trial cancelled in your billing settings ends at once, and nothing is charged.

Your statutory withdrawal rights remain unaffected by our 14 day money back promise. Using Faust does not reduce the refund under this promise. The separate Faust Pass exam guarantee also applies when its conditions are met.

Invite a friend

When a friend opens your invite link and makes a new Faust account, the friend gets 7 days of full access. You get 7 days when that friend finishes one practice section within 14 days after signing up. If you pay for a subscription through Faust, we move your next charge 7 days later instead, and you pay the full price on the new date.

Each person gets the friend week once. You can earn at most 4 weeks in any 30 days and 12 weeks in any 365 days. We give no week for your own accounts or devices, disposable email addresses or other misuse, and we can refuse a week that was obtained this way.

We can change or end the program at any time. Weeks already given stay yours.

Independence and trademarks

Faust is independent and not affiliated with or endorsed by Goethe-Institut, telc, g.a.s.t. (TestDaF) or ÖSD. All names and logos are the trademarks of their owners and are shown only to name the exam a practice paper follows. Faust does not issue certificates or official exam results.

You can buy any plan below with a card through Stripe. Practice at €0 needs no payment. Guests and members get one free paper each for reading, listening, writing and speaking. Signing up keeps the parts already used and does not add papers. Free papers do not refill. Guests and accounts also get 20 AI turns in total, which never refill, and single-word lookups stay at €0.

Flex

$5.49 per month. The subscription renews every month until you cancel.

You pay at checkout. There is no trial.

Faust Pass

$29.99 once for 12 weeks. Access ends after that time and does not renew.

You pay at checkout. There is no trial.

Prices are in euro. Stripe shows the final amount and any tax before you pay. You can cancel a subscription in the public cancellation flow or in Stripe Customer Portal. It stays active until the end of the period you paid for, unless a separately verified statutory withdrawal decision applies.

Fair-use caps pause practice until the next reset. There are no overage charges.
