Public cancellation
Cancellation is available through a public, always-visible two-step route without an account-login trap. The first request and final confirmation do not disclose whether an email or subscription exists.
A secure challenge is single-use, public-state safe and bound to an immutable subscription tuple. Before a Stripe mutation the server re-fetches ownership, mode, status, price, cadence and billing period. Stale or changed replay is denied.
Effective date and durable confirmation
The exact action, subscription, cadence, current period and known termination date are shown before the final button. A successful or manual-review result is delivered on a durable medium. Provider errors, missing message IDs, timeouts and ambiguous responses remain failed or pending and never become a success response.
Separate billing surfaces
The Stripe Customer Portal remains available from the authenticated billing area for payment-method and cadence controls. The public route above remains available without login. A cancellation is not a statutory withdrawal; use the separate withdrawal flow for that action.
