The Goethe A2 reading test (Lesen) takes 30 minutes and has 4 parts with 20 tasks. Reading counts toward the A2 total, and you pass the whole exam with 60 of 100 points.

### How reading is scored at A2

The whole exam counts together. You need 60 percent overall: 45 of 75 points in the written exam and 15 of 25 points in speaking. Reading is one part of that total.

Goethe A2 is not modular, so you cannot take Lesen on its own. You pass the Goethe A2 exam with 60 of 100 points, including at least 45 of 75 written points and 15 of 25 speaking points.

### How to practise Goethe A2 reading

- You have 30 minutes for all 20 tasks, so read the task first and then look for the answer in the text.
- Know the task types before the exam: multiple choice, matching.
- Work under the real time limit, not with extra time.
- Check your result by part and practise the part that cost you the most points.
